Know More

Monocure 3D is Australia’s leading manufacturer of high-performance resins for the 3D printing industry, supplying both consumer and commercial markets with a strong reputation for innovation and quality.

Problem

The CEO engaged me to help sharpen the company’s direction and improve commercial performance. Monocure 3D was spread too thin across multiple markets, the brand was visually outdated, and there was no clear understanding of marketing return on investment. Sales had softened post-COVID, particularly in consumer segments, and the business lacked clarity around which B2B verticals were most profitable.

Overview

Business + Growth Strategy | Brand & Product Development | Performance Marketing

My work began by aligning leadership around a clear north star. We developed a company-wide strategy to streamline product focus, improve positioning, and support scalable sales growth.

This included:

  • Rebuilding brand identity and product architecture

  • Redesigning the eCommerce experience for conversion

  • Resetting performance marketing foundations

  • Enhancing analytics to track and optimise ROI

The result was a sharper, more confident brand positioned to win in high-value B2B verticals, with a leaner, clearer sales funnel.

Product Ranging & Pricing Challenges

Initial analysis revealed that Monocure 3D was significantly underpricing its products compared with peers, despite outperforming many in terms of quality and reliability. While the pricing strategy was rooted in fairness, but maintaining strong margins, it unintentionally weakened perceived value and positioning.

The packaging and messaging further diluted brand equity, lacking the visual and tonal cues typically associated with premium products. We identified this as a key obstacle and initiated a strategic repositioning to address it.

At the same time, we worked with the CEO to narrow the company’s focus to the dental sector, a high-margin, high-potential category where Monocure 3D’s technical strengths and commercial returns could be fully realised. This created clarity across messaging, product development, and sales strategy.

Brand Refresh

Monocure 3D’s existing brand identity lacked the visual and tonal coherence expected of a premium, technically advanced manufacturer. While the underlying product quality was exceptional, the brand presentation, from packaging to web assets, failed to communicate this effectively to key commercial audiences.

To reposition the business for scale and signal category leadership, we undertook a strategic brand refresh. This included revisiting the core brand architecture, visual identity, and packaging systems. Drawing from competitive audits and customer insight work, we modernised the logo, introduced a more disciplined colour palette, and simplified typographic choices to reflect technical credibility and trust.

The packaging was redesigned with a clean, modern, clinical feel, aimed at commercial buyers, especially in dental and medical contexts, and built to compete visually with global players like BASF and Loctite. We also reset the tone of voice to be more authoritative and precise, reducing jargon and highlighting product performance through clear benefits.

Key Achievements

  • Developed an integrated strategic growth plan across sales, marketing, operations, and finance to align the business around clear priorities and revenue targets

  • Created and launched a targeted go-to-market strategy for the Dental sector, opening a new pipeline of high-margin, B2B opportunities driving 10% additional revenue

  • Led a full rebrand of the business to align visual identity and messaging with its innovation-led product offering and future direction

  • Established a strategic retail partnership with Jaycar Electronics, driving an additional $100k in monthly revenue with a pathway to exceed $1m annually

  • Conducted in-depth budget model reviews and profit margin analysis, identifying cost inefficiencies and pricing opportunities across key SKUs

  • Designed and implemented a personal productivity framework and executive workflow model to help the CEO structure and delegate more effectively
